At the Multilingual info Mainio, you can ask anything about living, working and studying in Tampere region in 14 different languages. Mainio’s advisors can help in different topics of everyday life, such us untangling Finnish documents or official correspondence, filling in different forms and applications, or making appointments.​ Services are available for all migrants who wish to seek information and advice in their own language. Any question or topic is welcome!

Career Counselling provides advice and support when you are planning to start vocational training or your future career. Counselling is for you if you are a foreign-speaking person and planning to study in vocational education or an international student studying at Tredu. Our Career Counsellor can also help you find suitable Finnish language trainings.

You can book an online session with our Career Counsellor for any week day, or come to meet her at the International House:

• on Mondays at 12:00-15:30 without an appointment
• on Wednesdays at 9:00-16:00 by appointment
• on Fridays at 9:00-16:00 by appointment

Please note that this service is closed from 11th June to the end of July 2023.

Are you planning to start your own business, but you are unsure where to start or what services there are to help you get started? We can guide you to the right services that will help you on your entrepreneurial path.

Guidance to Entrepreneurship Services is a one-time online consultation for internationals planning to start or grow their existing business in Tampere. Our Business Coordinator will help you to identify which entrepreneurial path is suitable for you and what kind of entrepreneurial services and information channels are available.

We also give consultation for startup teams overseas. We can help you with questions regarding relocation as an entrepreneur or moving to Tampere, Finland with your family.

Guidance service objectives:

• help you understand a suitable entrepreneurial path,
• help you identify how to benefit from the existing entrepreneurial services,
• help you where to find the necessary information.

Are you planning to stay in Finland? The initial assessment is meant to help you find the services you need to support your integration. The service is for residents of Tampere City Region, who have lived in Finland for less than 3 years and are not customers of TE Services (registered unemployed jobseeker), such as international students or stay at home parents. You can ask for initial assessment from Multilingual info Mainio.

The initial assessment evaluates

• your education
• your work experience
• your language skills
• other things that are involved in living in Finland.

Please note that Initial Assessments are fully booked for Spring 2023. Registrations for Initial Assessments will resume in Autumn 2023.

The Pirkanmaa Employment and Economic Development Office (TE Services) will help you find employment or trainings to develop your competence and language skills. You can register as a customer of the TE Services without an appointment at International House Tampere on Thursdays at 10-12 and 13.00-15.45. You do not need to book an appointment in advance.
